The Steve Browne Foundation is dedicated to creating transformative opportunities for individuals and communities, focusing on providing resources and support to drive sustainable, positive change. Since our inception, we have been on a mission to empower those facing challenges, bridging gaps in education, mental health, and social welfare.
The Origin of the Steve Browne Foundation
The Steve Browne Foundation exists today because of one man’s unwavering belief in the potential of young people. Founded in 2017, we were born out of the vision and spirit of Steve Browne, a former professional footballer who dedicated his life to mentoring and inspiring others, both on and off the field. Steve passed away after a brave battle with cancer, but his impact on the lives he touched lives on through us. We are here to continue the work he held so close to his heart.
Steve’s family—led by his wife, Sonia—wanted to make sure that his legacy of compassion and commitment wouldn’t end with his passing. Steve had always believed that helping young people was one of the most important things he could do. He dedicated himself to it, whether through his business or on the football field, knowing that young people often just need a bit of encouragement and guidance to find their way. So, in his honor, the Browne family established us, the Steve Browne Foundation, to keep his mission alive.
Our journey began with an incredible first event, made possible by the National Lottery Community Fund. That day brought together young people from across London, where they were given the chance to learn from sporting legends, connect with mentors, and feel the support Steve would have given them himself. This was more than just a day of fun—it was a day of inspiration, and it marked the start of a legacy built on empowerment, resilience, and community.
Today, we strive to be a constant source of support for young people up to the age of 18. Through recreational sports, leadership programs, and social activities, we provide spaces where young people can grow, learn, and find their strengths. Steve’s philosophy guides everything we do: that every young person, given the right support and encouragement, can make a difference in their lives and in their communities.
As the Steve Browne Foundation, we are here to carry forward Steve’s dream and to remind young people that there is always someone who believes in them. We are not just an organization; we are the continuation of Steve’s passion, a living legacy of his commitment to helping young people build brighter futures.

Learning Programs
In partnership with Skills builders and endorsed by Norther Council For Further Education (NCFE) we are committing to boosting essential skills for members of our programs .
Free uniform give away
The Steve Browne Foundation recently launched a Free New Uniform Community Giveaway to help families struggling with the cost of new school uniforms.
Sports coaching
We offer free coaching to young people in cricket, football, athletics, dance, and voice training, as well as DJing and MCing, supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.
