# Data Deletion Instructions – Hestia App

## How to Delete Your Data

If you created an account on Hestia using Facebook Login, you can delete your account and associated data using any of the following methods:

### Method 1: In-App Deletion

1. Open the Hestia app on your device

2. Go to the Profile tab (bottom navigation)

3. Tap on “Settings” or the settings gear icon

4. Scroll down and select “Delete Account”

5. Confirm your decision when prompted

6. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted

### Method 2: Email Request

Send an email to: **support@stevebrownefoundation.org**

Subject: Data Deletion Request

Include:

– The email address associated with your Hestia account

– A statement requesting deletion of your account and all associated data

We will process your request within 48 hours and send confirmation once complete.

### What Data is Deleted?

When you request account deletion, we permanently remove:

– Your profile information (name, email)

– All journal and gratitude entries

– Chat conversation history

– Mood tracking data

– Self-care plans and progress

– Any other personal data associated with your account

### Facebook Data

For data obtained through Facebook Login:

– Your Facebook ID association with our app

– Profile information obtained from Facebook (name, email)

– Facebook access tokens

### Data Retention

– Your data will be deleted within 48 hours of your request

– Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for statistical purposes

– We may retain certain records as required by law (e.g., for tax or legal purposes)

### Confirmation

Once your data has been deleted:

– You will receive an email confirmation (if email was provided)

– You will no longer be able to log into the app with your previous credentials

– This action cannot be undone

### Alternative: Facebook Settings

You can also remove Hestia’s access to your Facebook data:

1. Go to Facebook Settings & Privacy

2. Select Settings

3. Click on Apps and Websites

4. Find “Hestia Mental Health App”

5. Click Remove
